New Energy for the Market: The VIRTIMO [SPECIAL] VISIONS ENERGY Recharges the Industry’s Batteries.

Two days packed with energy ⚡: Featuring crisis heroes, digital co-pilots, and new tools for the movers and shakers of the energy transition.
There was a real buzz in the air! On September 11 and 12, the Amplifier Berlin was transformed into the epicenter of the digital energy industry. At the VIRTIMO [SPECIAL] VISIONS ENERGY, around 100 experts, clients, and partners came together to discuss the questions that truly matter for the future of energy. The event was kicked off by a keynote from Virtimo board member Dirk Breitkreuz, who posed a central question: What is the perfect mix of standardized services and individual Smart Digital Applications to be ready for the future? The following two days were dedicated to answering that question—not with theory, but with hard facts from the real world.
Turning Crisis into Opportunity: Our Top Stories
Sometimes, the most unexpected moments lead to the greatest progress. A real highlight was the presentation by John Usemann of Trading Hub Europe GmbH. Imagine this: a central system faces an unexpected end-of-life. Time to panic? Not at THE! John Usemann showed how this shock became a chance to reinvent the technological foundation of the Virtual Trading Point (VHP) and sustainably strengthen THE’s position in the European market. Of course, Virtimo is more than a little proud that we were able to help pull off this feat as part of the new project team, together with Sopra Steria and THE. That’s resilience in its purest form! 🚀
Getting Hands-On with Future Tech: AI, Smart Grids & Green Energy 💡
Beyond the core topics, the event took a deep look into the future. Georg Lettner of oekostrom AG took us on a deep dive into the world of automated renewables trading, showing how the Virtimo Digitalization Cloud serves as the central, flexible platform for this crucial part of the energy transition. Immediately after, we witnessed some digital magic with Thomas Ebenrett of A/V/E GmbH, who demonstrated how IGUASU unleashes the power of AI bots to create real “wow moments” in customer service. An equally important look into the future came from Daniel Peters and Tim Siegel of UTILITY PARTNERS GmbH, together with Virtimo’s cloud expert, Martin Büscher. They showed how a VNB data platform based on the Virtimo Digitalization Cloud becomes the “nerve center” for the smart grids of tomorrow.
News from the Virtimo Engine Room 🛠️
Naturally, we couldn’t resist showcasing a few brand-new tools from our own engine room. Virtimo expert Nikolaus Matthaei introduced the full-service VIPUSH, which completely handles all of the energy sector’s publication obligations for companies.
Meanwhile, the VICOS platform continues to ensure smooth and secure data traffic in the European AS4 market communication and, thanks to a new Web API interface, is now perfectly equipped for future challenges like the 24-hour supplier switch.
Just as exciting was the insight from Tobias Guserle of Syneco Trading GmbH into the world of automated market processes. Who isn’t familiar with the headaches that complex processes in market communication can cause? With VIMPAS, a new service was presented that acts as a digital “co-pilot,” taking over these exact tasks and freeing up experts to focus on strategy. And because security is a team sport, Thomas Kröckel and Dirk Breitkreuz introduced the new Defenders’ Club: a platform where clients can share their knowledge in the fight against cyber threats. Because we’re stronger together! 💪
The Heart of the Event: Our Community.
In the end, one thing stands out above all: A huge thank you! To all the speakers for their fantastic insights, to the Virtimos behind the scenes, and to our guests for the great conversations—whether over coffee, on the historical neighborhood tour through Berlin, or with a cool drink at the legendary Clärchens Ballhaus. The energy and drive were infectious.
