Virtimo was founded in 2010 – as a small team with a big vision. 🐣 Today, 15 years later, we look back not only on immense technological development but, above all, on a story of change, growth, and strong partnerships.

It all started with a vision.

Our journey began with a focus on the consulting business around the INUBIT technology. We were a dedicated team of 4 experts and soon aspired to take on more responsibility and offer our clients a full range of services. This strategic shift – from a pure service provider to a solution provider – defines us to this day. With the Publication Framework, the foundation for today’s Virtimo Publication Service Hub [VIPUSH], we developed the first application of our own in 2013.

From a start-up to an established team.

In 2015, we followed up by launching our first independent product, the Business Process Center [BPC]. As the team and our responsibilities grew, we moved from the shared commercial complex on the Spree River to a larger office on Berlin’s Münzstraße. At the same time, we expanded our presence: with our first booth at the E-world trade fair, for our team by launching Work & Travel to destinations around Europe, and for our clients with our very first VIRTIMO VISIONS – attended by an impressive 45 guests.

Room for new milestones.

Soon, this office was bursting at the seams as well, and it was time to say: Hello, Behrenstraße 18! The team continued to grow as there was plenty to do: a key milestone was the launch of VICOS, our first SaaS offering, in 2020. In the same year, things came full circle when we acquired INUBIT from Bosch, bringing valuable expertise entirely back in-house. The fact that our strong partnership with Bosch continues to this day is demonstrated by regular workshops in Berlin and with our offshore development team in Bangalore. And what abou events like VIRTIMO VISIONS and Christmas parties during times of the COVID-19 pandemic? As digital pros, we naturally mastered these challenges as well. 😎

A major player in the energy world.

By now, we have settled into our Behrenstraße office just as well as we have into the constantly changing world of energy companies. When the BSI AS4 challenge arose, affectionately nicknamed “The Beast” by us, we had the right solution for simplified market communication at hand with VICOS – a success underscored by the connection of Germany’s first LNG terminals in 2023. Driven by a team of 75 colleagues, we are now a reliable partner for many companies in the energy sector and beyond. Our presence at E-world has become as much a fixture as our VIRTIMO VISIONS, which attracted 140 guests in 2024.

Strong partners and clients on board.

15 years of Virtimo – that is a team achievement. Our journey has been and continues to be decisively shaped by the people and companies who place their trust in us. Some of our clients, including SEFE, GASCADE, NaTran, AGGM, Magna Steyr, Open Grid Europe, Gebrüder Weiss, and EDEKA Minden-Hannover, have been with us since the early years, and we have had the privilege of growing, learning, and reaching milestones together. We are equally proud of our long-standing collaboration with partners like GISA, BINT, Topcom, and Sopra Steria. At this point, a huge thank you to everyone for the wonderful and trust-based collaboration!

What’s next?

The energy transition, a dynamic market environment, technological change – the challenges of the VUCA world are already a reality. Rigid plans and purely standard solutions are no longer sufficient to succeed. What’s needed is maximum flexibility – which we will continue to provide by developing on our own tech stack. This ensures that we will consistently align with our clients’ needs in the future and evolve together with them, both technologically and professionally. And in doing so, we will stay true to our values. ✌️

15 years is a milestone, but not a destination. It is the impressive foundation on which we continue to build. Our vision remains the same: to shape the digital transformation with courage and creativity, together with our clients, partners, and all Virtimos.
